About Us

The Wotton Times is a rare example of a local success story in modern print journalism: a hyperlocal community-driven monthly paper which aims to give a voice to a part of the Cotswolds which often finds itself overlooked by larger media outlets.

First set up in 2018 by Simon Hacker and Matt Bigwood in response to the lack of news coverage that was afforded to Wotton-under-Edge and the surrounding area, the focus of the paper is to offer something different to regional news, publishing stories that matter to our readers. This focus has been carried forwards by the new team, comprised of publisher Jan Baber, editor Ben Norris and graphic designer Jason Titley, who took over in September 2019.

Our success shows that there is still an appetite for local print journalism, and that hopefully there will be for some time to come.
